Four outstanding account operating teams, including the "Ministry of Public Security's Criminal Investigation Bureau" WeChat public account, the People's Daily's "People's Suggestions" Weibo account, the Palace Museum's Weibo account and WeChat public account, and the Beijing 12345 WeChat public account, were presented at the conference.

These accounts have made significant contributions to listening to the public's voices, understanding their needs, and serving them online. The selection activity was launched in 2021 by the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission and the China Internet Development Foundation, aiming to discover and promote outstanding accounts that have made significant contributions to online services. Over the past four years, the activity has promoted 400 outstanding accounts, covering over 1 billion fans, with a total online transmission volume of over 2 trillion and online interaction volume of over 100 billion. The significance of "Walking a Good Online Mass Line" lies in its ability to mobilize and recognize outstanding online accounts that embody the values of a harmonious and civilized online community.
By promoting and celebrating these accounts, the initiative aims to cultivate a positive online environment, where citizens can engage in constructive dialogue, share inspiring stories, and promote social cohesion. The campaign has made significant strides in achieving its objectives, with over 400 outstanding accounts recognized and a combined following of over 1 billion users. As a representative of outstanding accounts, "People's Suggestions" demonstrated how the platform has evolved from a "leaders' message board" to a dynamic channel for citizens to contribute their ideas and opinions. By leveraging digital technologies, People's Daily Online has successfully created a conduit for the voices of over 5.4 million enterprises and individuals to be heard and responded to.

The story of "a suggestion worth over 6 million yuan" serves as a powerful illustration of the impact that citizen engagement can have on shaping policy and driving positive change. Meanwhile, the future prospects indicate that the China Network Civilization Conference will continue to play a significant role in shaping the online environment. By recognizing and promoting exceptional online content and interactions, such as those highlighted by the initiative, the conference aims to foster a more open, inclusive, and harmonious online community. This is particularly important in the context of China's emphasis on network civilization, with President Xi Jinping placing great importance on the development of a civilized online space as a key component of socialist spiritual civilization and network power construction.
In a related development, the recent arrest of Chinese social media influencer "Khaby Lame," also known as "面瘫哥," in the United States has sparked debate about the role of online personalities in shaping public opinion and the importance of complying with immigration laws. Lame, who has over 1.6 billion followers on social media, was arrested for violating immigration laws and has since voluntarily left the United States. The incident highlights the need for online influencers to be aware of and comply with the laws and regulations of the countries in which they operate. As the Chinese government continues to emphasize the importance of network civilization and online governance, the role of online influencers and content creators in shaping public opinion and promoting positive values will remain a key area of focus.
