The flooding has affected several neighborhoods in the new city district, including Jinhai Bay, Jiangjing Mansion, and other areas, as well as the old city district. The flood control pressure is enormous, with many residents struggling to cope with the disaster. To ensure the safety of the people, the Rongjiang County Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters issued a notice urging residents in the affected areas to evacuate immediately and move to higher ground. As of 10:30 am on June 24, approximately 50,000 people had been relocated, with 29,360 people relocated through the efforts of party members and officials, and around 20,000 people self-evacuating.
Emergency responders, including the Rongjiang County Fire Department, are working to evacuate people from the affected areas and provide assistance to those in need. The local government has activated the level-I emergency response mechanism, with rescue teams and equipment being deployed to the affected areas. The authorities are working to evacuate people stranded in the floods, provide emergency supplies, and repair damaged infrastructure.
In the face of this disaster, local residents and business owners have come together to provide aid and shelter to those affected. One hotel owner in Kaili City, located over 100 kilometers away from Rongjiang County, offered free accommodations to those stranded in the city. This selfless act is just one example of the many ways in which the community is working together to support each other during this difficult time.
The Guizhou Provincial Meteorological Bureau has issued a warning of heavy rainfall in the province, with some areas expected to experience torrential rain. The bureau has urged residents to take precautions and follow the instructions of the local authorities. As the situation continues to unfold, the people of Rongjiang County and surrounding areas are coming together to support each other and cope with the disaster. The local government is working hard to restore order and provide assistance to those in need, and the province is expected to make a full recovery from the floods in the coming days.
