The Qingdao Beer Plant responded to the incident by saying that they attached great importance to the situation and immediately reported it to the local public security authority, which is currently investigating the matter. They also revealed that all batches of malt used in their production have been sealed as a precautionary measure.
However, this explanation did not seem to convince many Weibo users, who expressed their disgust and concern over the incident. One user commented sarcastically, "The person who does this is really mean, and it's estimated that they can't claim a few dollars." Another user said, "Food hygiene and safety issues need attention. Drinking beer like urine, now it's really become urine."
Some netizens speculated that the problem may not be an isolated incident, suggesting that there are broader quality control issues within the factory management. They questioned how many other times similar incidents had occurred and whether these "small mistakes" had been sold to customers before.
As for the products of Qingdao Beer factory III, which include Cui Dao Beer, Hong Xue Long Beer, Guo Li Beer, and Qingpa Activated Water, many Weibo users advised others not to worry as they were confident that these beers were regular beers sold on the market.
However, some netizens expressed skepticism and wondered what had happened in the past that led to this situation. One user sarcastically asked, "What happened this time? Not finished eating watermelons. Somebody explain it to me, please." Another user commented, "Once considered just like this, now afraid that's true," suggesting a gradual decline in the reputation of Qingdao Beer products.
In response to these reactions, some Weibo users made jokes and ridiculed those who were unable to control their bladders. One user shared a personal anecdote about seeing similar behavior near his home and questioned why someone would walk two minutes to go home when there was a public toilet within five minutes' walking distance.
Others expressed concern over the potential health implications of consuming such beer, with one user joking, "Don't drink beer, your uric acid will be high! It's true!" However, not all comments were negative as some users shared their own experiences of finding public toilets in unexpected places and expressed sympathy for those who could not control their bladders.
The Pingdu Market Supervision and Administration Bureau also responded to the incident by saying that they established an investigation team after discovering related videos involving Qingdao Beer Third Plant on October 19. They sealed all ingredients revealed in the video and assured that, once proven, they would handle the issue according to laws and regulations.
As of now, it remains unclear how this incident will affect the reputation and sales of Qingdao Beer products, but one thing is certain - this incident has raised serious concerns about food hygiene and safety in China's beverage industry. The company's response and subsequent handling of this situation will likely have a significant impact on its future operations.
