In 2015, the Chinese government launched a concentrated interview activity in Lhasa, Tibet, to showcase the achievements and developments of the Tibet Autonomous Region over its 60 years of establishment. The initiative, dubbed "辉煌60载魅力新西藏" or "Glorious 60 Years of Charming New Tibet," was organized by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee. Nearly a hundred journalists from central and provincial media outlets participated in the event, which aimed to promote a positive image of Tibet's development.
