Li Bai (701-762 CE) was a Chinese poet, one of the most important and influential figures in Chinese literature. He was known for his extraordinary talent, eccentric personality, and passionate poetry. Li Bai's life was marked by his love of nature, wine, and poetry, as well as his desire for freedom and his disdain for conventional social norms. Born in Suyab, a city in modern-day Kyrgyzstan, to a family of Chinese descent, Li Bai spent most of his childhood in Jiangyou, Sichuan Province, China, where he developed a love for learning and a talent for poetry, particularly drawn to the works of the great Chinese poets Qu Yuan and Tao Qian.
