Stranded Taiwanese Fisherman Returned by Mainland China Amidst Tensions

As tensions continue to simmer between mainland China and Taiwan, a recent development has seen the mainland authorities return a stranded fisherman back to Taiwanese territory. The spokesperson for China's Taiwan Affairs Office, Chen Binhua, responded to a reporter's question regarding two Taiwanese fishermen who were rescued off the coast of Fujian province on March 18th. The fishermen were reportedly delayed in returning to their home territory, resulting in concerns about their status and well-being from both sides of the Taiwan Strait. According to Chen Binhua, Fujian maritime authorities discovered a distressed fishing boat without proper identification in the vicinity of Weitou Bay on the 18th.
