Zheng Qinwen's Clay Court Comeback Cut Short
In a disappointing turn of events, Chinese tennis player Zheng Qinwen has been eliminated from the WTA 1000 Madrid Open, falling to Russian opponent Potapova in the second round with a score of 4-6, 4-6. This marks Zheng's first match on clay since her Olympic gold medal win in Paris last year, and it also brings an end to her 11-match winning streak on the surface. Despite having a 3-1 lead in their head-to-head matches, all of which were played on hard courts, Zheng struggled to find her footing against Potapova.
