Tragic Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Incident at Shanxi Steel Plant: Four Workers Dead, Safety Measures Urged
On February 23, 2024, at 18:50, a tragic carbon monoxide poisoning incident occurred at the coke plant of Wangzhuang Steel Limited in Jiaocheng County, Lvliang City, Shanxi Province, China. Four workers lost their lives despite rescue efforts. In response to the incident, the Shanxi Provincial Work Safety Committee has placed the handling of the accident under a special supervision and inspection process, as stipulated by relevant laws, regulations, and the "Measures for the Implementation of Special Supervision and Inspection of Major Accident Rectification in Shanxi Province."
