On July 16th, China Eastern Airlines officially took delivery of its second domestic C919 large passenger aircraft in Shanghai. Following the delivery, the aircraft was transferred from Shanghai Pudong International Airport to Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport and became part of the China Eastern Airlines fleet. The second C919 will initially be used on the airline's "Shanghai Hongqiao - Chengdu Tianfu" flight, joining its first aircraft.

With the success of the C919, China's aviation market is expected to accept more than 9,000 aircraft worth $1.39 trillion between 2021 and 2040. The resulting profits and high-paying jobs will significantly benefit Chinese families.

The C919, along with the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737, marks a new era in the global civil aviation passenger aircraft market, transitioning from AB's double oligopoly to ABC's tripod (including the C919). Although the C919's range is slightly lower than its competitors, its cost-effectiveness sets it apart.

The second domestically produced airliner, the C919, has been inducted into China Eastern Airlines' fleet after being delivered by COMAC. Weibo users are eagerly anticipating their next opportunity to fly on a Chinese-made aircraft. The world's first commercial passenger flight using the C919, operated by China Eastern Airlines, took place on May 28th, 2023.

The hard work and struggle of many individuals have finally come to fruition with this momentous occasion for China Eastern Airlines. As the second aircraft enters service, questions arise about whether the airline's current staffing can support two aircraft or if leased factory pilots will be involved. The significance of this event cannot be overstated as it accelerates the formation of a three-legged race among Airbus, Boeing, and COMAC, promotes the internationalization of the Renminbi, embodies China's hard power, and drives the development of the entire industrial chain for large aircraft.
