A frightening incident occurred at the Shenzhen Happy Valley theme park on the evening of October 27th, which resulted in four individuals being admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for treatment. Despite their admission, the news release stated that their condition was stable and not life-threatening, causing some confusion among Weibo netizens.

The ride involved in the incident is the "Snowy Eagle" rollercoaster, which moves at a fast pace with a direct launch and constant acceleration for approximately 30 seconds. Wuhan Pan Weijie shared a video on Weibo expressing their terror upon witnessing the incident, stating that the ride was too stimulating. Another netizen expressed similar sentiments, saying that they usually only play less intense rides like "Mini Coopers and Carousel" and avoid thrill-inducing projects such as bungee jumping and parachuting due to safety concerns.

The incident sparked widespread concern among Weibo netizens, with many expressing their support for the injured individuals and emphasizing the importance of safety measures in amusement facilities. Some users urged Happy Valley to be more transparent about the situation and provided detailed announcements about the accident, citing that such incidents are not unique and occur frequently in these types of entertainment venues.

However, while most comments expressed concern for the victims' safety and expressed hope for their recovery, some Weibo users made inflammatory remarks towards Happy Valley and its handling of the situation. Some users accused the park of being more concerned about maintaining a positive image rather than ensuring rider safety. "Safety is not just a buzzword; it's a matter of life and death," said one netizen, adding that they would never play such thrilling projects due to their fear.

The incident has sparked intense discussions about the safety measures in place at amusement parks in China and prompted calls for more stringent regulations and protocols to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future. As Weibo netizens continue to express concern for the wellbeing of the injured individuals, many also emphasize the need for greater transparency and accountability from amusement parks regarding safety measures and incidents that occur on their premises.
