A tragic incident has shaken the Qiqihar community in China, as a school sports hall collapsed during the summer holidays, resulting in 11 fatalities. The accident occurred due to a large amount of perlite that was illegally stacked on the roof of the stadium, which had been piled up with not light quality and exceeded its carrying capacity.

The incident has sparked outrage among Weibo netizens, who are demanding answers regarding the lack of construction supervision that may have contributed to this disaster. A user named "Rubbish" commented on the matter, saying, "I can't imagine that the school treats human life like a piece of grass, building such a big project without anyone to supervise and investigate."

Another netizen, "Zhiguo," expressed their sorrow over the tragedy, asking, "What do you think about the analysis of this event from professionals? Isn't that what so many people ask, schools and builders don't ask before an accident, and then they start all kinds of soul-searching when something goes wrong!"

The incident has highlighted the need for improved construction supervision in China. According to Li Zhu, vice president of the Chinese Perlite Association, transporting dry perlite to the site is a violation of operation standards, which may have contributed to the collapse. CCTV reported that the last trapped student was rescued with no vital signs, bringing the total number of fatalities to 11.

In light of this tragedy, it is imperative for authorities to investigate the incident thoroughly and hold those responsible accountable to prevent similar accidents from occurring in the future. The families of the victims deserve justice, and the construction industry must be made to understand the importance of proper supervision and adherence to safety standards.
