The news broke out on Weibo, a popular Chinese social media platform, and it sparked outrage among netizens who expressed their shock and sadness over the event. Many users shared heartfelt condolences for the young girl and questioned the irresponsibility of her parents, particularly the father, who was seen with his daughter on the beach without a phone before she disappeared.

One user wrote, "This family portrait looks very happy. After cutting in, who can see a yellow root core... I really cry, this irritating father! This is the farthest distance that the child has walked by herself, and he is only four years old. The pandemic has lasted for three years, so they can finally enjoy this world, but irresponsible parents have lost it". Another user lamented, "I really feel sorry for this young girl. She has not seen much of the world yet, and I hope she can be born in a good family that loves her in her next life".

The case also served as a reminder to parents, especially those living in dangerous areas with young children, to exercise extreme caution. Some users felt that this incident highlighted the need for changes in China's laws. They pointed out that the maximum sentence for kidnapping is only five years and that investigating criminal responsibility can be difficult, particularly when it comes to negligent parents like in this case.

Users also criticized the father for leaving his daughter alone on the beach while he went back to shore. A user expressed their disbelief saying, "Still, we hope the police will investigate carefully. In the evening, when it was about to get dark, a family drove to an unfamiliar beach. Mom and Gramma didn't go to the beach, only Dad took his daughter to the beach, and Dad left his daughter alone on the beach while returning to the shore...".

The tragic event sparked discussions about parenting and child-rearing in China. Some users argued that parents should focus more on their children's inner world rather than their exterior success to prevent them from becoming anxious adults. Others expressed their anger at those defending the irresponsible father, asking, "Who exactly is speaking up on behalf of those goddamn parents?".

The news also sparked concerns about child safety and raised questions about parental responsibility. Many users expressed deep regret for the little girl's loss and felt that the incident was a wake-up call for all parents to be more vigilant in protecting their children, especially in unfamiliar or potentially dangerous environments.

The event has sparked a heated debate on Weibo, with many users expressing outrage at the father's actions and lamenting over the tragic loss of life. The incident has also brought renewed attention to the issue of parental responsibility in China and calls for stricter laws and public awareness campaigns to prevent similar tragedies from happening again.
