Tourist Scammed for $120 at Chinese Restaurant in Alleged Collusion with Taxi Driver
A tourist visiting Zhangjiajie City, Hunan Province, China, was taken to a local restaurant by a taxi driver and charged 844 yuan for two dishes, sparking allegations of collusion between the taxi driver and the restaurant to scam tourists. The incident occurred when the tourist and her boyfriend were visiting Zhangjiajie and were taken to a restaurant called "Tujia Garden" by a taxi driver. Upon arrival, the service staff enthusiastically recommended their signature dish, "wa wa yu", and quickly ordered the fish without waiting for the tourists' response. After the dish was served, the tourists discovered that the portion was extremely small and the price was 258 yuan per kilogram, which was significantly higher than the market price.
