As the mercury rises and the days grow longer, China marks the beginning of the "Sanfu" period, a time colloquially known as the "dog days of summer." This year, July 20th heralds the onset of this sweltering season, which will envelop the country in its intense embrace for 30 days, concluding on August 18th. The term for this significant shift in the calendar, "今日入伏," translates to "today enters Fú," signaling the commencement of the hottest phase of the year.

In an unusual incident that has captured public attention, the retired US Navy aircraft carrier USS Midway was struck by an approximately 18-meter-long sport fishing boat on July 18th. The collision, which occurred around noon, resulted in a loud noise that echoed through the area, startling eyewitnesses.
